We are open - safety is our top priority!
Want to straighten your teeth but don’t want to get braces? Come in for an Invisalign consultation. Discover that there is a clear, convenient and comfortable way to have a beautiful, straight smile.
The clear choice for those of you with crooked, crowded or gapped teeth is Invisalign® treatment. Invisalign is often referred to as “invisible braces” or “removable braces” because the aligners are made from a clear, lightweight material that slips over the teeth without the need for any brackets or wires. Think of them as almost invisible retainers that will gently guide your teeth into proper alignment.
Our dentist at Galt Family Dentistry is a Certified Invisalign Provider with the training and experience to create for you a beautiful, straight smile. Call us today at (954) 302-7410 to schedule an Invisalign consultation. You’ll leave our office knowing how Invisalign treatment can help you or your family member have a gorgeous smile, how quickly it works and how you can fit the cost into your monthly budget.
How Does Invisalign® Treatment Work?
Invisalign moves your teeth into place using a progressive series of clear, comfortable aligners. Each set of aligners is a slightly different shape that moves the teeth slowly and gently toward their final, straight position.
After your Invisalign consultation, our dentist will take an impression of your teeth, then send it off to a dental lab. Using the information shared by our dentist, the dental lab will produce the necessary number of progressive Invisalign aligners, or retainers, by using the latest advancements in 3D computer technology and manufacturing methods. The complexity of your case will determine how many aligners you need and how long you’ll have to wear them.
You will typically switch to a new aligner every week or every other week, following a routine set by your Invisalign dentist. You’ll need to return to our dental office in Fort Lauderdale for check-ups and to pick up your next sets of aligners about every six weeks.
For the best results, we recommend you wear your Invisalign aligners 20-to-22 hours each day. Remove them only when you eat, drink, brush or floss. Smokers should also remove the aligners.
Once your treatment is complete, we recommend that you continue to wear a retainer, just as you would if you’d worn braces, to help keep your teeth in alignment. Be sure to discuss this with our dentist.
What are the benefits of Invisalign?
The most obvious benefit of Invisalign is that the product is virtually transparent; few people will even notice you’re wearing Invisalign. Other advantages include:
- There are no metal brackets or wires that come with braces to irritate your mouth, and you won’t require the use of rubber bands.
- Because there are no brackets or wires to be adjusted, you’ll need to make fewer visits to our Invisalign dentist in Fort Lauderdale.
- Unlike with traditional braces, you can remove your aligners when you eat or drink, allowing you to enjoy certain foods such as popcorn, nuts, chewy candy, hard fruit, corn on the cob and chips. Those foods are prohibited with traditional braces.
- And unlike the difficulty of brushing and flossing with traditional braces, removing your aligners gives you the ability to better care for your teeth.
What is Invisalign Teen®?
Invisalign Teen is designed for teenagers who have all their permanent teeth. It is popular with teenagers who play sports, play musical instruments, or simply prefer the look of clear aligners over metal braces.
Invisalign Teen aligners have a small color-changing element the dentist can view to determine if the teen has been wearing the aligners for the recommended amount of time.
The other difference between Invisalign and Invisalign Teen is that more replacement aligners are typically provided with Invisalign Teen just in case a set gets lost or broken.
How much does Invisalign cost?
The cost of Invisalign is based on your individual needs and only your dentist can determine the cost. Generally, however, the cost is consistent with that of braces.
Factors that can influence the cost of your Invisalign treatment include your treatment goals, the length of treatment, the number of aligners you need, and the complexity of the case.
Insurance coverage for Invisalign differs from policy to policy, so we suggest you review your policy or call your insurance carrier to see if the treatment is covered. In most cases, a policy that covers orthodontics will also cover Invisalign.
A flexible savings account (FSA) can help with those monthly payments by allowing you to put $2,550 of pretax dollars toward the cost of your Invisalign treatment.
For those who have no dental insurance coverage or the means to pay the entire amount up front, ask our team about a plan for flexible, affordable monthly payments.
